Privacy Policy
Dogs Welcome (USA) — Last updated: 2 June 2026
The short version: Dogs Welcome does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. Everything happens on your own device.
This Privacy Policy explains how the Dogs Welcome mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. Dogs Welcome is operated by David Gildea (trading as addressHQ) as an independent developer. This policy applies to the USA edition of the App.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect any of the following:
- Personal information such as your name, email address, mailing address, date of birth, or phone number.
- Account credentials — the App does not have user accounts or logins.
- Location data — the App does not request or use location services, precise or approximate.
- Photos, contacts, calendar entries, or other personal content from your device.
- Payment or financial information — the App is sold via the Apple App Store, which handles the transaction; we never see your payment details.
- Analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reports, or any third-party tracking data.
- Browsing history or behavior within the App.
Information stored only on your device
The App stores a small amount of information locally on your device to provide its core features:
- Favorites: when you tap the heart icon to save a venue, the App records the venue's name and ZIP code in your device's local storage so the list is available next time you open the App. This information never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.
You can clear this information at any time by using the "Clear all favorites" option in the App, or by deleting the App from your device.
Bundled directory data
The App includes a bundled directory of publicly available business information (names, addresses, ZIP codes, telephone numbers, and websites of dog-friendly venues across the United States). This data is included in the App at the time of release and is read from your device — no live connection to our servers is made to retrieve venue information.
Links to external services
The App allows you to:
- Open a venue's website in your device's web browser
- Call a venue's telephone number using your device's phone app
- View a venue's address in Google Maps or Apple Maps
- Share a venue's details using your device's share sheet (for example, to Messages, Mail, or WhatsApp)
When you choose to use any of these features, you leave the Dogs Welcome App and interact with a third party (the website, your phone carrier, the maps provider, or the messaging app you choose). Those third parties have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.
Children
The App is suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children, because we do not collect information from anyone. This is consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Your privacy rights (U.S. residents)
Because the App collects no personal information, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, delete, or sell. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or similar state privacy laws — we have none to sell or share.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in how the App works or to comply with legal requirements. The most current version will always be available at this URL. We encourage you to review it periodically.
